American Diabetes Association
The American Diabetes Association is a foundation that provides promotes research and education for patients and healthcare professionals. Its website provides both audiences with a wealth of information on the prevention, screening, identification, and management of diabetes. In addition, the ADA sponsors one of the major scientific meetings in diabetes, the ADA Scientific Sessions, in June of each year.

Australian Diabetes Educators Association
The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is a multidisciplinary association of healthcare professionals who provide diabetes education and support for people affected by diabetes. This includes people with diabetes, family and friends of people with diabetes and people at risk of developing diabetes in the future. The website includes resources for professionals, news and an online magazine.

CADRE
The Council for the Advancement of Diabetes Research and Education (CADRE) is a nonprofit group in the United States that provides education and resources to healthcare professionals. The CADRE website offers a collection of slides on diabetes management and seminal trials, newsletter articles and case studies on topics ranging from pediatric diabetes to lipid and hypertension management in diabetes and continuing education monographs; their handbook, The CADRE Handbook of Diabetes Management, can be ordered through their website or downloaded as PDFs.

Diabetes Action is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting diabetes education and diabetes research in order to enhance the quality of life for people affected by diabetes. The Foundation is focused on reducing the serious medical complications of diabetes.

Diabetes Network International
Diabetes Network International (DNI) is a registered charity which aims to help people with diabetes achieve a healthier and more productive life by sharing knowledge and promoting better diabetes care. The DNI website is designed to create a central DNI exchange for information and ideas.

Diabetes New Zealand
Diabetes New Zealand (DNZ) is a nation-wide non-government, non-profit organisation. Its aims are to provide support for its members, member societies and health professionals involved with diabetes. The DNZ also aims to increase the general public's awareness of diabetes so the incidence of undiagnosed diabetes is reduced. The web site provides valuable information and support to people with diabetes including tips on day to day management and control.

Diabetesonestop.com contains a broad range of clinical and scientific articles relating to diabetes and associated conditions, both published and especially commissioned, as well as conference abstracts and reports. Other features include directories of useful services, a conference calendar and educational material for both healthcare professionals and people living with diabetes. The site has been developed to serve all members of the diabetes community.

The Diabetic Retinopathy website is produced in partnership with the University of Birmingham-Academic Department of Ophthalmology and Good Hope Hospital Eye and Diabetic Clinics. The site provides information on diabetic retinopathy care, prevention and diagnosis to people with diabetes and healthcare professionals.

Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. The website provides educational resources and support for people with diabetes plus information on current research and a section for healthcare professionals.

The Endocrine Society
The website of The Endocrine Society, an international organisation for endocrinologists, offers information about research and clinical advancements in endocrinology and metabolism. The Endocrine Society is dedicated to promoting excellence in research, education and clinical practice in the field of endocrinology, including diabetes, reproduction, infertility, osteoporosis, thyroid disease, obesity/lipids, growth hormone, 
pituitary tumors, and adrenal insufficiency.

European Association for the Study of Diabetes
The European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) is an international membership organization which includes scientists, physicians, laboratory workers, nurses and students from all over the world who are interested in diabetes and related subjects. Its website provides information about upcoming meetings, study groups and research programs, as well as links to the association's publications.

Federation of European Nurses in Diabetes
The Federation of European Nurses in Diabetes (FEND) provides a voice for nurses working in the field of diabetes care, research and education in Europe. This group holds a two day annual conference prior to the EASD annual meeting. The group also provides education and information for healthcare professionals in medicine, nursing, dietetics and psychology and for patients with diabetes. FEAED
The Spanish Federation of Associations of Educators in Diabetes (FEAED) is a multidisciplinary association of healthcare professionals who are involved in the development of diabetes education in Spain. The aims of the FEAED include improving the quality of life of people with diabetes, developing educational programs for people with diabetes, evaluation and accreditation of existing educative methods and promoting research in Diabetológica Education.

International Diabetes Federation
The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is a global organization dedicated to advocacy for people with diabetes and their healthcare providers. It consists of over 185 member associations, and is a non-governmental organization in official relations with the World Health Organisation and the Pan American Health Organisation, with the mission of promoting diabetes care, prevention and a cure worldwide. The multilingual IDF website contains an extensive links section, including other professional organizations and diabetes-related websites. The site also includes a general diabetes section and information on the work carried out by the IDF.

Joslin Diabetes Center
This site offers CME accreditation for physicians with an active interest in developing their knowledge of diabetes management, as well as edited highlights of recent news articles.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) funds research to find a cure for Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes and its complications. The JDRF also aims to provide public education for individuals and families living with insulin-dependent diabetes to explain to them the latest research findings which will help them live lives less severely impacted by diabetes.

Tayside Diabetes Network
Provides information about the Tayside Diabetes Network used in the Tayside region in Scotland as well as other resources including patient leaflets and the Tayside Diabetes Handbook.

World Health Organisation
The Diabetes Mellitus page of the World Health Organisation (WHO) includes links to WHO statistics and programme information. These include the WHO Diabetes Programme, the Diabetes Fact Sheet, and diabetes prevalence estimates, among other information.
